Yosemite... Part 2.

I just came back from Yosemite, where I had a blast week! I will put three entries about the trip. Each one will include different aspects of the park, trails, animals and lots of pics of course! This is the Second one!


Acabe de llegar de Yosemite, donde pasé una brutalidad de semana! Voy a poner tres entradas acerca del viaje. Cada una con diferentes aspectos de el parque, recorridos, animales y muchas fotos claro esta! Esta es la Segunda!

El “Cap”, Eagle Point and Yosemite falls: On Thursday Sean (The guy from U.K) and I went to take a look in the upper north part of the Valley, so, we started hiking up for 3 hours to the Falls, then, we headed to “El Capitan” (A classic climbing rock, with lots of famous routs like “The Nose”) great views from up there! Then we headed to Eagle Point a small spot that we thought it would be normal but instead it's one of the best places to see the Valley, Half Dome, Sentinel Rock… and many more things. Sadly for me, Sean is a marathoner so his pace was killing my legs. Then we went back to the Valley… It was hard but beautiful! Almost 9 hours of hiking and good company.

El "Cap", Eagle Point y las Cataratas de Yosemite: El Jueves Sean (El pelao de U.K) y yo fuimos a darle un vistazo a la parte alta y norte del Valle, entonces, empezamos a caminar 3 horas arriba hasta las cataratas, luego, nos fuimos a "El Capitan" (Una roca de escalada clásica con muchas rutas famosas... "The Nose" es una de ellas) Buenas vistas desde alla arriba! Luego, nos fuimos a Eagle Point, un pequeño lugar que pense que seria normal pero que de lo contrario resulto ser una de las mejores vistas de el Valle, Half Dome, Sentinel Rock... y muchas cosas mas. Tristemente para mi, Sean es un maratonista, entonces su ritmo estaba matando mis piernas. Luego fuimos al Valle otra vez... Fue duro, pero Bellisimo! 8 horas de caminata y buena compañia.

(Yosemite Valley)

Glacier Point and Panorama Trail: On Friday, the day after the 8 hours trail, I made another 8 hours trail but in the other side of the Valley. It was a really hard walk, just me, rocks, squirrels and nature. The views were spectacular, huge falls, high cliffs and awesome views of the Half Dome (Another classic climbing rock with a weird shape). I finished more than exhausted, that’s why, with a selfish feeling, I had a Cheeseburger.

Glacier Point y Panorama Trail: El Viernes, el dia despues de las 8 horas de caminata, hice otras 8 horas de caminata pero en el otro lado del viaje. Fue una caminata muy dura, solo yo, rocas, ardillas y naturaleza. Las vistas fueron espectaculares, grandes cataratas, altos acantilados y buenas vistas de el Half Dome (Otra roca classica de escalada con una forma extraña). Terminé mas que cansado, por eso, con un sentimiento de culpa, me comí una Cheeseburger.

(In the whole park area there are almost 7 falls and creeks that go to the Merced river... It is unbelievable)

(Vernal Falls... There was spring showers there... If you are walking up is refreshing, otherwise, really cold!)

(Cascadas Vernal... Habia lluvias de primavera allí... Si uno va para arriba es refrescante, de otro modo, muy frio!)

What I thought it would be: I imagine a really peaceful place with some people hanging around, climbing, hiking and chilling out. But, sadly, what I found was a huge valley with almost 5 hotels and lodges, shops, even, a post office. Cars, buses and # tourist a year are transforming this beautiful spot into a huge industry that don’t even care about the environment and, just like a fish, I got hook, having a Cheeseburger… What a shame of me... Delicious Cheeseburger though.

Lo que Imaginé que iba a ser: Imaginé un lugar realmente pacifico, con unas cuantas personas caminando, escalando y relajandose. Pero tristemente, lo que encontre fue un gran Valle con casi 5 hoteles y cabañas, tiendas e incluso una Post Office. Carros, buses y 2.7 millones de personas al año estan transormando este bello lugar a una gran industria que no le importa ni un poquito el medio ambiente y como un pez, quedé enganchado, comiendome un Hamburguesa... Siento pena y lastima de mi... Sin embargo, una deliciosa hamburguesa.
