Yosemite... Part 1.

I just came back from Yosemite, where I had a blast week! I will put three entries about the trip. Each one will include different aspects of the park, trails, animals and lots of pics of course! This is the first one!

Acabe de llegar de Yosemite, donde pasé una brutalidad de semana! Voy a poner tres entradas acerca del viaje. Cada una con diferentes aspectos de el parque, recorridos, animales y muchas fotos claro esta! Esta es la primera!

Yosemite: The whole area of the National Park, includes, the Valley, and the Backcountry (Upper Valley). Geologically speaking, this amazing place was shaped by ice and water. At first, a small creek passed through some hills making the river ground bigger and deeper, then, thousand and thousands of years later, those hills became a small canyon with a huge river passing through, after that, a couple of ice ages transformed the small canyon into a wider territory and formed those steep, pointy and high rocks and waterfalls. Finally, after that, the ice became water that filled up the valley making a good place to live for fauna and flora.

Yosemite: Toda el área del Parque Nacional, incluye el Valle, y los alrededores (Lo que esta arriba del Valle). En Geología, este maravilloso lugar fue hecho básicamente por agua y hielo. Al principio, un pequeño riachuelo pasó a través de algunas colinas, haciendo su lecho mas grande y hondo, luego miles y miles de años después esas colinas se convirtieron en un pequeño cañón con un gran rió pasando a través de el, luego de eso, unas cuantas eras de hielo transformaron el pequeño cañón a un territorio ancho y formaron esas empinadas, punteadas, altas rocas y cascadas. Finalmente, luego de todo eso, el hielo se convirtió en agua que llenó el valle haciendo un buen lugar para la vida de fauna y flora.

The trip: When I was planning to go to Yosemite, my plan, basically, was to hitchhike from SF or to find a ride share… Pina invited me to the train instead. Thanks so much for that one! I had a great time! After the 6 hour trip where I met Sean a guy from U.K with whom I hiked a lot, I arrived to Yosemite Valley and pitched my tent in Camp 4 right away… I was tired. 

El Viaje: Cuando estaba planeando ir a Yosemite, el plan era básicamente, hitchhikear (Echar dedo) o encontrar un Rideshare desde SF... Pina en cambio, me invitó a tomar el Tren. Gracias por esa! La pasé muy bacano! Después de 6 horas de viaje donde conocí a Sean un pelado de U.K con quien caminé bastante... Llegue finalmente a Yosemite Valley y puse mi carpa en Camp 4 ahí mismo... Estaba cansado.

Camp 4: Camp four is "The" “Climbers camp” and a total classic. Since 1930 climbers around the world have been staying here for months and months (something that isn’t legal… but who cares) chilling out and hanging around all together. Hopefully for me, I fit really good into this environment. Camp four is one of those places where everyone is nice and friendly with its folks, there is camp fires every night and lots of chats around the campground. Camp four is not for everyone though. Climbers, Hikers and Backpackers from around the world stay here for outdoor activities or even to just hang around. There was chats almost every night around a fire place with a few climbers from Germany and US… Awesome people!

Camp 4: Camp 4 es uno de los "Campamentos de escaladores y un total clásico, desde 1930 escaladores de todo el mundo se han estado quedando ahí por meses y meses (Algunas veces no es muy legal, pero a quien le importa) Relajándose, andando todos juntos y suerte para mi, encajé muy bien en ese ambiente. Camp 4 es uno de esos sitios donde todo el mundo es amable y buena gente con sus pares. Hay fogatas todas las noches y bastantes charlas alrededor del campamento. Sin embargo, no es para todo el mundo. Escaladores, caminantes y mochileros de todo el mundo se quedan allá para realizar actividades al aire libre o simplemente relajarse. Estuve charlando cada noche alrededor de una fogata con unos cuantos escaladores de Alemania y USA... Gente muy Bacana!

Animal Encounters: Squirrels and Marmots all around the place! Bears are hard to see though. Lucky for me, I ran into one! And then I ran away. There are several more animal but those were my favorites. 

Encuentros con Animales: Ardillas y Marmotas por todos lados! Los Osos sin embargo son dificiles de ver. Suerte para mi, me encontré con uno! y luego corrí. Hay mas animales pero esos fueron mis favoritos.
